Idubi
October 2026 Mastcam-Z “Image of the Month” submitted by Louise Duflot and the Mastcam-Z Payload Downlink Leads
October 8, 2026
Mastcam-Z captured this stereo view of the contact between a field of light-toned rocks and Idubi, a narrow channel lying just west of Jezero Crater’s rim. Looking eastward, the scene shows loose light-toned rocks scattered across the terrain, with distant mounds on the horizon. The team is studying the nature of this unit and how it relates to the surrounding region. This mosaic is made up of 75 individual frames and was created with an enhanced-color stretch to show greater visual contrast. The sky was also artificially extended upwards to frame the scene in a rectangular format.
Images acquired on sol 1950 (August 14, 2026), in Mastcam-Z sequence zcam09996.
