La Oratava Crater Rim

This Mastcam-Z Left Filter 0 (RGB) enhanced color mosaic was taken on Sol 385 (March 21, 2022).
This Mastcam-Z mosaic shows the raised rim of the La Orotava impact crater, located at the contact between the Seitah and Maaz units of the Jezero crater floor. The image was taken as Perseverance traversed across the crater floor towards the western delta. This is one of my all time favorite Mastcam-Z images because it is not every day that you get to see such well-preserved impact crater rims. On Earth, crater rims are rapidly destroyed by destructive forces such as erosion. The crater is approximately 320 meters across.
