Alex Hayes
Alex Hayes is an Associate Professor of Astronomy at Cornell University and Director of the Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science. He is a Co-I on the Mastcam-Z Investigation for the Perseverance rover and co-leads the Calibration Working Group. His research focuses on planetary surface processes and solar system exploration, with a particular emphasis on comets, Mars, and Outer Solar System satellites. Prof. Hayes has been involved in multiple NASA/ESA spaceflight missions including the Mars Exploration Rovers, Mars Science Laboratory, Cassini/Huygens Mission Saturn, Europa Clipper, and the Dragonfly mission to Saturn’s moon Titan.
