Rachel Howson
Rachel Howson has been supporting uplink operations for Perseverance since the rover landed in Jezero Crater in February 2021. Before joining the Mastcam-Z team, she shadowed Pancam operations on the Opportunity rover while also working as an elementary school teacher.
Her favorite parts of working on Mars 2020 are collaborating with the science team to make their imaging dreams come true, and starting the day by looking at freshly downlinked Mastcam-Z images.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys running and walking around America’s Finest City, traveling, tap dancing, knitting, spending time with animals, and being with family and friends.
